Ministry Description

A lifeline is something which one holds onto in order to save one's life.  Our vision is to put the lifeline of the gospel of Jesus Christ within the reach of the 100 million college students of the world. Our mission is to use the outdoor experience to help students and staff grow in relationship with God, in relationship with each other, and in leadership and character.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”   - Romans 1:20

College students today are submerged in an environment that teaches them that truth is relative and religion is for the unintelligent.  Many students, even Christian students, are confused and seeking answers.  Unfortunately they often look for those answers in the wrong places.  Ultimately these students need to be given the opportunity to see religion in a new light. How they are influenced today will most likely affect them for  the rest of thier lives!Lifelines has the unique ability to attract students that would not normally be drawn to a Christian group! Hundreds of students each year come face to face with God as they hear the Gospel on one of our outreaches!

Lifelines Outreach Activities:

Whitewater Rafting, Rock Climbing, Paintball, Sea Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Snowshoeing, Backpacking, Canoeing

Lifelines gets students away from campus and all of the stresses and pressures that they experience there.  Students are given the opportunity to realx and have fun in a caring, safe, and scenic environment!  They are able to get away for a day or a weekend and go on any one of a number of exciting adventures.Lifelines allows the students to experience some part of the Gospel (trust, bonding, acceptance, adventure etc.) throughout the course of their trip.  The students are encouraged to set goals for the day and to take as much as they can from the experiences that they are having.

Surrounded by the beauty of the Green Mountains and beautiful Lake Champlain, they interact and form relationships with each other and with Campus Crusade staff and students.  At the end of the day they are given the chance to hear the Gospel in a way that ties into what they are learning about themselevs and their peers!  Finally they are able to indicate a personal response to that Gospel message through a survey that is collected at the end of the trip!  These surveys are then followed-up with back on-campus!
